Just got my ‘lazy’ coffee delivery from Holland.

Kinja'd!!!

I’m now sat with my mini air conditioner to the left of my computer, computer, Tassimo to the right of the computer, TV to the right of that and my beer fridge below it and a Marcilla Cafe Largo coffee in my hand .

Oh and I’m off tonight. CHINESE TAKEAWAY, YAY.

I could of got these from work too.

I like Stroopwafels but rarely in the mood for them.

Biscuits are one of those things I fancy when I see them but don’t even think about if I’m not looking at them.

Actually. I don’t think I ever had a coffee from a Dutch coffee shop when I lived there.

It was mostly beers and Guinness.

My old stomping ground in Veghel.

Ye’, we can get ptreey much anything here now, if you can’t find it in one store, you’ll find it in the next.

We used to do caramel ones, chocolate on one side coated caramel ones, etc...

I keep thinking about Holland, but don’t speak much in the way of Dutch. I can say hello and ask how people are and ask questions in a factory setting but that is it.

I used to be a mania c for a good chocolate Hobnob. Oh man they are good.

It’s a British thing to dunk biscuits into tea or coffee.

Sounds like you’d love where I live.

City life and a very short drive to The Lake District.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

So many hues of blue, green and brown.

Every day a different colour on the canvas.

Kinja'd!!!

Nothing like walking through the low cloud base, then sitting and looking down on the cloud.

Kinja'd!!!

Steam trains through and around the county.

Kinja'd!!!

Our locals don’t need such a thick skin. Lol.

Though you may need it out in the countryside if your not fully prepared as the weather changes every few minutes (though this summer is kicking me in the arse, the weather is 29C right now and my room feels much hotter than that, it’s supposed to be 25C+ all week ).

I’ve been recommending Tassimos for ages.

There is a coffee franchise here in the U.K. called Costa, use one of their coffee cards (you need to spend quite a bit to earn points, so I don’t), but being on there mailing list you get their offers and you can get a Tassimo for £30 usually.

Tassimo pods are shipped from Holland and they recently started offering all the countries all the options rather than just the U.K. ones for the U.K. and G erman ones for Germany, etc...

I’m happy with 12-15C, more than 20C for too long is just uncomfortable.

It’s great when there is a storm or at least a shower through the night as it clears the air up a bit.

We’ve got a small panic on here, there are only two of the five food CO2 producing factories in operation as the rest are down for maintenance (apparently the same is being said for other countries in Europe).

Ye’, it’s having an effect on all parts of food supply. Even slaughter houses are closing early or reduced shifts as they use CO2 as part of the method to stun animals.

Benelux is getting it in from Poland, Italy and Spain.

Norway is rationing supplies and stopped in some other areas.

It’s something you don’t really think about but is a big part of all food production.

I’ve lived in the Netherlands for 34 years, 2 of which right next to a ‘coffee’ shop. I’ve never bought a single thing in a coffee shop and I don’t think I’ve been inside one more than once or twice in my life . They’re overrated and partly for the tourists.

Some are and some are just ideal.

There is a Costa coffee shop under the old town hall.

A town hall (built in 1669) which has a three face clock tower , the north side has no clock face as the mayor at the time said, ‘I wouldn’t give the time of day to the Scottish’.

Kinja'd!!!

The post box in front of the town hall is a rare Penfold post box, one of 20 left in the U.K. and was commissioned in 1866.

The first Penfold box on the mainland U.K. was a mile down the road from this one but didn’t survive.

Kinja'd!!!

Looking onto the Carlisle Market Cross (1682), from where the town crier used to call out the days news, proclamations, etc...

Hell, I don’t even know if there was one of ‘those’ coffee shops where I lived.
